  As the recently retired Director of Public Health Nursing and Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Director for Napa County Public Health, I have worked with Joelle for over 20 years as both a trusted colleague and friend on numerous programs, projects and initiatives to improve the well-being of children, families and the entire community. Joelle works with deep dedication and passion, and brings her keen intelligence, insight, experience and expertise, relational and communication skills to all of her interactions and work. Joelle has a unique and wide breadth of experience combined with an ability to understand the beliefs and desires that shape the lives of our community members, which brings a new leadership perspective so critical to the success and thriving of our community in these urgent times. Joelle understands the complexity of the diverse systems in our community including health care, social, business, climate, immigration, and agricultural and knows how to navigate these systems and bridge differing belief systems and ideologies to accomplish goals that benefit our entire community. Joelle is the perfect leader for the Board of Supervisors during these critical and divisive times and will bring her compassion, visionary thinking, incredible competence, kindness and love of our community to her leadership role and our hopes for the future.
